La Maison Gabrielle-Roy

La Maison Gabrielle-Roy is a cornerstone of cultural tourism in Manitoba allowing the public to discover a heritage site that celebrates the life and work Gabrielle Roy. Built in 1905, the birthplace of Gabrielle Roy is a very important and recurring symbol in the work of the famous French-Canadian author.

It was the birthplace and first home of the award-winning Canadian author, novelist, and teacher.

Theatrical visits – Léon Roy’s house!

 

Take a step back in time to 1923, to the family home of Canadian writer Gabrielle Roy. Follow the enigmatic patriarch Léon Roy, father of Gabrielle, on a theatrical strolling tour on the three floors of the building. He will tell you about his family, his beloved house on rue Deschambault, and his youngest daughter.

 

Inspired by the 2 monologues of Suzanne Kennelly – Léon et sa maison, et La visite chez Mélina

 

Maison Gabrielle-Roy is proud to present this theatrical visit, performed in the birthplace of Gabrielle Roy, a national historic site.

 

Duration: 50 minutes

 

Price: $16 adults; $8 children 6-12

 

Admission by reservation; maximum 12 people per performance
